4 Things You Should Know About 316tees

1. Our apparel is inspired by Truth. It is not meant to be a witness on its own

Our designs are inspired by the Truth, which is God's Word.

We are called to be the "light of the world".  We are called to follow Jesus. Not just to be "Christians" who believe. If we are truly followers of Jesus, then others will see the "light" in us. Love will be pouring through us to others. It is that love, the most important fruit of the spirit, that will cause others to see something different in us, not a t-shirt.

2. We do not believe in competition. We believe in partnership.

In other words, I do not believe that other Christian apparel brands are my competitors. This is one of the biggest problems with "Christian" businesses in my opinion. Jesus' followers are supposed to build each other up.

We are called to Love. How powerful would it be if we partnered up, rather than competed for sales? It doesn't mean we have to literally be business partners.

But why not share the business of other believers if the opportunity is there? Why not help other believers start businesses using the wisdom and knowledge we have gained through running our own businesses? We want 316tees to be a brand that serves others.

When Ephesians 4:1 talks about Unity, I believe these words "when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love" also apply to those of us who have chosen to run a business. I believe that one "Christian" business is just a part of a larger Kingdom marketplace where all the parts should be working together.

3. We partner with bands because Christian music has been a huge influence in our own journey.

I love just about every kind of Christian music. I grew up as a music minister's kid in an East Texas Baptist church. Our family sang together. I was in Choir. Music has always been a part of my life. When I rededicated my life to Christ in my early 30s, Christian radio was there.

It became a part of my daily routine. I even remember listening to a secular top 40 station in 2003 and hearing "I Can Only Imagine" for the first time. I was thinking, how did this song cross over to secular radio? This was most definitely a powerful Christian song! Apparently I wasn't the only one who was touched by this song, as we know it was the inspiration for a movie. This song crossed to secular radio because God. That's it. God is so good.

 4. We have heart for Orphan and Foster ministries

316tees supports Coreluv International, and there will be others. Coreluv's motto is "Defend the Orphan". We are specifically called to this in Isaiah 1:17 as well as other verses. But this has become more evident to me these last few months.

Earlier this year I attended a Men's Advance (like a retreat) at an amazing camp facility in Texas. That weekend I remember hearing that we should live to our full potential in God's Kingdom. Was I living to my full potential? I quickly decided I was not. But I prayed and asked God to help me live to my full potential in the Kingdom.

After days, not weeks, we had the opportunity to "temporarily" take in a sibling group of 4 kids. I have grown spiritually over the years, but this is not something I would have ever done, nor is it something I could do. I prayed and told God I was incapable of doing this and asked for His help. He answered that prayer and has since opened my eyes and heart about the orphan and foster crisis all over the world.

316tees is an apparel brand inspired by Truth. I pray that, in our own journey to grow, we are able to help people along the way.
